What are memes? Memes are reaction pictures that have gone viral because a lot of people took interest in it. People often use it for fun and to express what they feel. When used in the right way, it is funny and can be used for entertainment but when abused it can turn into someone’s embarrassment.

An example of a meme that has gone toxic is the “taph taph” kid. The video and pictures of it clearly shows that the person involved in the photo is a person with disability yet Filipinos still use it for fun. Although the parents of the disabled child had already spoken about it people still continue to use it without thinking of the harm that it causes the kid.

Memes are supposed to be a way of entertainment for a lot of people but when it is used without knowing the context behind it, it can serve as a tool to harm the person involved in the picture. People should start thinking of others before posting memes because it can hurt other people’s feelings and can get them into a state of embarrassment. .
